If you tuned-in to NBC’s Nightly News last night, there were more changes than who’s sitting in the chair. There’s now no mention of Brian Williams, for the first time, in the show opening.
NBC also apparently plans to pull the Nightly News With Brian Williams logos off its website and all other promotional materials.
A source at NBC tells the NY Post Page Six, “If they left Brian’s name on there, [his replacement] Lester Holt would have to explain to the audience every night that he’s standing in for Brian, which is not an ideal situation.”
Brian’s name has also been removed from the Nightly News Web page and Facebook page.
Holt said on-air Wednesday:
“This is an enormously difficult story to report. Brian is a member of our family but so are you, and we will work every night to be worthy of your trust.”
