The Philadelphia Police Department’s War On Drugs Stole From Saved By The Bell

Who among us is a Saved by the Bell fan? You can’t see me, but I’m raising my hand! I have seen every single episode. And not just once or twice, but at least a million times! Even though I’m 33-years-old, if Saved by the Bell is on TV…I will stop everything and sit down to watch!

For the most part, Saved by the Bell really didn’t do the hard-hitting subjects. For sure there was never an episode about sex. As the show went on, there was an episode that dealt with alcohol and another episode involving marijuana. The marijuana episode particularly stands out because the gang did a PSA encouraging kids to stay away from drugs. “There’s no hope with dope.”

NBC was on the right track, using our favorite Saturday morning celebs to teach us kids a lesson. However, the Philadelphia Police Department’s war on drugs might be a little lazy.

They actually used the exact same anti-drug commercial from Saved By The Bell!!! The only thing they changed was a bad voice over with the NBC President and poorly pasted picture of the police chief on TV executive, Brandon Tartikoff’s head.

I don’t really know what Philly was going for on this one, but it’s pretty hilarious!
